Yala National Park

Yala National Park is Sri Lanka’s second-largest and most visited national park, known for its high concentration of leopards and diverse wildlife, including elephants, sloth bears, and many bird species. Located in the southeast corner of the country, it features a variety of ecosystems such as grasslands, forests, and wetlands, with two of its five blocks open to the public for safaris. Best visited between February and July, the park is an important conservation area and was first designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900.
